What did the Mayan predict will happen in 2012? There are many different views, insight and interpretations about what the Mayans has predicted will happen in 2012. The only conclusive evidence we could find on what the Mayan mite have predicted for the year 2012 was the Dresden codex which shows that the world will be destroyed by water falling from the sky. Water can however fall from the sky in two forms, rain or ice. In order to understand if the Mayans where revering to ice or rain we will have to learn more about the Mayans. The Mayans believed that everything in nature and the stars always repeat it self and move in cycles. If this is the case we should find evidence to what the Mayans where revering to by looking back into the past. Between 4000 and 7000years ago the earth was a lot warmer. Mammoths, plants, trees and even a human were found from this period. All the evidence was found under retreating glaciers in Greenland, Siberia, Scandinavia, New Zealand and the Andes Mountain in South America. All these items was suddenly frozen and preserved for thousands of years. It was calculated that a temperature of -100degrees was needed to freeze a Mammoth completely. If we combine this with the Mayan prediction, the Mayan prediction will say that the earth will experience a sudden cooling and unexpected cooling event in 2012. This prediction seems to correlate with the ice age theory, although the ice age theory says that we will first have to enter a period of warming.
