Bras and Panties (The clothing story)
No one knows when humans started to wear clothing and why, but one thing is for sure we started off naked. According to the christen bible, Adam and Eve where naked, until they ate from the tree of knowledge. They realized they where naked and used leafs to cover themselves. This seems to suggest that humans one day just woke up and decided to wear clothing. However tribes like the Awa tribe from Brazil still does not wear clothing till this day. Most African tribes in the 1700’s and even up to the early 1900 only wore a small cloth covering their private parts and it was common for woman to walk around “topless”. Although so called porn was illegal in most parts of the world, it was common to find films and videos for all ages about African and rare Indian tribes where woman breast where clearly visible up to the late 1980’s.
The fact is it seems highly unlikely that the first group of humans would have found it strange to see someone with out clothing, because they would have been use to seeing each other naked and other factors must have lead to human deciding that it would be a good idea to wear clothing.
The first humans where likely lived in warm areas which they called home and most probably lived in forest and savannas where trees offered shelter from the sun. Because humans does not have a thick layer of fat directly under there skin like seals and penguins or, a think layer of hair like polar bears and most other land dwelling animals; cold and direct tropical sunlight for extended periods will kill humans. Although dark skin color does make it easier to travel in direct tropical sun light, it can not with stand the direct raise with out being harm for extended periods.
Human most likely started to wear clothing to protect themselves from the cold in places like northern Europe, northern Asia and Canada. The desert kingdoms of the Middle East did not always wear their long robes; in ancient drawing we can see that most people just wore a small piece of cloth around their waists.
The idea of clothing probably came from the north and were spread as northern tribes invaded southern areas as they have done for 1000’s of years. Today European style clothing can be found the world over, that is because Europe almost conquered every corner of the planet and force their style of clothing down upon the world, even in warm areas where it just do not make sense, wearing so much in such a warm place.
